As an associate software engineering graduate at Accenture, you will get involved with building the technological solutions that the company is renowned for.

You will get the opportunity to work both onshore and offshore across various industries.

Graduates on the associate software engineering programme at Accenture typically have a computer science (or related degree) However, people with non-STEM degrees can apply if they can demonstrate their passion for technology.

You’ll be trained in technologies such as SAP, Oracle, Java/J2EE, C#, salesforce and more.

2: BBC

The software engineering graduate scheme at The BBC lasts for 2 years and includes 4 6 month rotations.

You will help the BBC to adapt to their audience and drive innovation to shape the future of the BBC.

Entry requirement: computer science or related degree.

You will work with technologies such as AWS, JavaScript, HTML 5 CSS 3, PHP, Python, Ruby, Scala, Haskell and more.

BT offers a two-year software engineering graduate scheme.

The programme is open to graduates who have a computer science and those who have a STEM degree.

You’ll work with technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, Python, Objective-C, Java and more.

4: Lloyds Banking Group

On the software engineering graduate scheme at Lloyd’s, you will complete 3 rotations over the two-year programme. During this time, you can work on large-scale projects, write code in different languages, create DevOps pipelines and much more.

Entry requirements: 2:2 degree in any subject, from any university.

5: Tesco

The technology software engineering graduate scheme at Tesco gives grads the opportunity to learn a selection of different technologies.

To get a place on the programme, you must demonstrate your passion for technology. You do not need to have a degree in computer science, however, you will need to demonstrate your aptitude for quality coding.

You will also need to demonstrate your logical thinking skills and your willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.

6: Ford

On the software engineering graduate scheme, you will rotate across a series of placements.

The programme is designed to help you to build on the knowledge and skills you gained in your degree. You will get the opportunity to develop skills in some of the following areas:

  • Web Development
  • Product Design

Vehicles are becoming more and more reliant on technology.

At Jaguar Land Rover, the software teams are responsible for designing and developing the software that is running inside and outside of vehicles.

Entry requirements: degree in computer science, software engineering (or similar).

MI5 use a broad range of different technologies with most applications written predominently in Java or C#.

On the MI5 software engineering graduate scheme, you will be supported to obtain accredited skills through bodies such as BCS and IET.

This programme will equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience to become a software engineer. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle.
