#1: Network Rail

Network Rail’s finance scheme for graduates may be a good fit for you if you are analytical and if you have a flair for financial planning. They are looking for enthusiastic graduates who like to work collaboratively.

During the three-year programme, you will get involved with management accounting activities such as:

  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Variance analysis and reporting
  • Liaising with other business functions

Finance graduates in this programme will be enrolled in a government-level 7 apprenticeship programme.

You will learn principles of finance such as investment, tax and forecasting. You will also learn the accounting process.

Within your first three months as a finance grad at Network Rail, you will complete the certificate level of CIMA.

In subsequent months, you will go on to complete the professional level of CIMA.

In addition to the level 7 apprenticeship and CIMA qualifications, you will also complete the Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) qualification.

You will need a 2:2 degree in any subject.

#2: Ford

The finance graduate programme at Ford is designed to broaden your knowledge and skills in:

The NHS has a multi-billion pound budget to deliver effective healthcare.

The NHS offers a Finance Management Graduate scheme that lasts for 2.5 years.

During this time, you will gain experience in areas including corporate finance, accounting and financial analysis.

The NHS Finance graduate scheme gives candidates the opportunity to develop a sound knowledge of the local needs whilst developing your skills and competencies.

Sky’s finance graduate scheme will enable you to learn on the job whilst studying for your CIMA qualification.

On the programme, you will:

  • Learn what it is like to be an accountant
  • Support new product launches

On the 3-year programme, you will rotate around different areas of the business, gaining a wide range of experiences.

Zurich’s structured graduate finance programme will provide you with hands-on experience whilst you study for your ACA, ACCA or CIMA exams.

To secure a place on the finance scheme, you must demonstrate your numerical and analytical skills.

#6: British Airways

On the three-year graduate scheme at British Airways, you’ll become an invaluable asset, gaining exposure to challenges unique to one of the world’s biggest and most well-known airlines.

You will be sponsored to study for a qualification in ACCA, ACA or CIMA.

British Airways graduate scheme finance

#7: Santander

On Santander’s finance graduate scheme, you’ll cover a wide range of areas from reporting to forecasting.

The goal of the programme is to help you to become a professional accountant in just 3 years.

Academic requirements: 2:1 degree in any discipline
Skills: relationship building, collaboration, numerical and writing
Location: London, Manchester Milton Keynes or Leicester
Salary: £30k minimum

#8: Aston Martin

As a graduate on the finance graduate scheme at Aston Martin, you will be
a part of multi-functional teams, that ensure that new model programs meet budgeted profitability, operational budgets for headcount and expenditure are not exceeded and more.

Entry requirements: applicants should preferably have a degree in business, accountancy, maths or economics.

#9: Whitbread

The finance graduate scheme at Whitbread offers hands-on experience from day one. Whilst gaining practical experience, you will also be supported to complete your CIMA qualification.

Entry requirement: 2:1 degree (minimum) in any subject

On the 3-year finance graduate scheme att Morrisons, you will learn on the job whilst studying for a level 7 CIMA qualification.

Throughout this programme, you will experience 3 finance placements, helping you to develop the skills to become an accountant.

  • 3 A-levels grade B (minimum)

Morrisons finance graduate scheme

#11: TFL

On the TFL finance graduate scheme, you will make financial decisions that will more people every day.

During the programme, you will rotate across 9 placements. Alongside gaining experience, you will also study for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification through the Level 7 Accountancy Taxation Professional apprenticeship.

The finance team at Aviva is spread over three functions Group Chief Accounting Office, Risk & Capital Management and Strategy & Planning.

Aviva offers a range of finance graduate schemes. All of them involve getting to the bottom of their financial data so they can transform numbers into insights.

#13: Liberty Global

Liberty Global is a world-leading finance organization. The three 12-month rotations across a range of departments will enable you to gain experience in different areas of finance.

You’ll need:

-2:1 degree in any discipline
-Passion for finance

You’ll take the role of Finance Analyst in the finance graduate programme at Legal and General.

During this time, you will complete three ‘seats’, giving you experience in at least two areas of the business.

Location: rotations could be in London, Birmingham, Hove and Cardiff.
Salary £25k+
Entry requirements: 2:1 degree minimum in a finance or non-finance-related subject

On the finance grad scheme at Diageo, you will learn a wide variety of tasks including preparing and maintaining accounts, reporting, planning, risk management, project management and more.

On the finance graduate programme, you will experience three 12-month international placements.

As part of the programme, you will complete the CIMA professional Finance qualification.

You will need:

On this global programme, You will experience rotations in 4 of the following organizations: Business Controlling, Tax and Treasury, Risk Management, Investor Relations including M&A, Consolidation and External Reporting, Finance Processes and Compliance, Shared Service Organization in Stettin (Poland) or Switzerland or Finance Organization Somerset (USA).

On this finance graduate programme, you will rotate across areas such as Operations Finance, Commercial Finance and Financial Control.

During these rotations, you will be supported to study for the CIMA qualification.

Entry requirements: 2:1 degree (minimum)

#21: Babcock

The Accountancy and Finance programme at Babcock gives graduates a broad experience over the course of three years.

During this time you will study for a CIMA qualification.

Your role will span both management accounting and business tax consulting. As you progress on the programme, you will be mentored towards becoming a chartered accountant.

Starting salary: £30.6k
Academic entry requirement: 2:1 (Hons) degree in Accountancy and Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering, with a good A-Level in Maths

On the finance graduate scheme, you will be supported to take your CIMA qualification.

You will also gain practical, hands-on experience across the business.

It is a 5-year scheme where you will gain experience whilst gaining your CIMA qualification.

The finance role at Lloyds Banking Group goes beyond accounting. You will utilise data to inform decisions within the business and with clients.

#31: Siemens

Over either two or three years, you’ll work towards a professional qualification while gaining hands-on experience.

By the end of the programme, you’ll be fully qualified. You’ll study for the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and study for your level 7 accountancy/taxation professional apprenticeship standard and the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting.
