List of supply chain graduate schemes


#1: Tesco

The supply chain and store merchandising teams at Tesco are dedicated to improving product ranges in-store and ensuring that stores have adequate stock to enhance the customer experience. 

Tesco offers an 18-month supply chain graduate scheme. Their programme gives candidates the opportunity to rotate around various supply chain functions to gain broad experience. You’ll gain hands-on experience and learn what it takes to deliver great product availability to customers in the most efficient way.

Salary: £28.000
Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
Minimum entry requirement: 2:2 degree
Skills/attributes required: problem-solving skills, proactive, confident communicator, teamwork.

#2: Morrisons 

Morrisons ensures millions of products are in the right place at the right time for their customers. On their 2-year graduate scheme candidates work with buying, logistics, manufacturing and retail teams, to increase the efficiency of their supply chains. 

Minimum entry requirement: 2:1 degree, graduated within the last two years, Full UK driving license.
Skills/attributes: strong analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, leadership and influencing skills, a positive attitude, resilience, great listening skills and teamwork.

#3: Diageo 

28,400 people work for Diageo. Over half of them work in supply chain functions. On their supply graduate programme, you will help to source, produce and deliver 6.5 billion litres of product every year across 180 markets across the world. 

The graduate supply programme at Diageo lasts for 3 years and involves learning how the supply chain operates by gaining hands-on experience.

#4: Nestlé

Nestlé’s supply chain graduate scheme gives graduates experience in roles such as logistics procurement and demand planning.

Nestlé is looking for graduates who can see problems before they arise, problem-solve and come up with ideas.

#5: Carlsberg

Carlsberg offers an integrated supply chain graduate programme The programme aims to give graduates an overview of the end-to-end supply chain spectrum.

You’ll spend the first year in Switzerland and the second year in another location where Carlsberg operates.

#6: Boots

On Boot’s supply chain grad scheme, you’ll work as part of a team to ensure that their 2500 stores remain stocked.

You’ll need to bring energy, fresh thinking and efficient ways of getting the right products, to the right place at the right time.

Salary: £26, 000
Entry requirements: 2:1 degree
Location: You will start with a leadership role in one of the UK stores before moving to the Nottingham Support Office.

#7: Harrods

Harrods offer graduates a Distribution graduate scheme. The 15-month programme gives graduates the opportunity to gain insight into working on the shop floor and experience in supply chain operations.

Candidates on this programme are given training. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates progress to become a Distribution Assistant Manager.

Skills/attributes required: ability to work in a fast-paced environment and teamwork skills
Academic requirements: 2:1 degree bachelor’s degree in any degree discipline
Location: Knightsbridge and Thatcham

#8: Bayer

Bayer offers a Global Supply Chain Management Trainee Program. It is a two-year training programme. During this time, you will be introduced to global supply chain planning activities, country supply chain operations as well as strategic initiatives and related functions such as marketing and procurement.

This may be a great opportunity if you have studied a supply chain-related masters degree. Ideally, you should also have some supply chain work experience or experience in a related field.

#9: Associated British Foods

ABF offers a graduate scheme in supply chain and operations. The scheme lasts 18-months. During the programme, you will gain an overview of the entire process of food manufacturing; from sourcing all of the ingredients and packaging, through to planning of production.

#10: EDF

EDF offers a two-year supply chain graduate scheme. Upon successful completion of the graduate scheme you may be interested in a role in one of the following roles:

  • Supply chain analyst
  • Procurement Specialist
  • Supply chain specialist
  • Supplier Development Engineer
  • Contract manager

During the programme, you will work towards a CIPS chartership.

Starting salary: £27, 500
Entry requirements: 2:1 undergraduate or 2:2 postgraduate business or economics-related degree

#11: Siemens

Siemens offers a wide range of entry level graduate opportunities across the business.

The programme is two years and applicants can choose from opportunities in:

  • Supply chain management
  • Manufacturing
  • Electric or software engineering
  • Information technology
  • Finance
  • Business
  • Project Manager
  • Environment Health and safety
  • Quantity Surveying

The selection process involves:

  1. Online application
  2. Game-based assessment
  3. Video interview
  4. Assessment centre

The two-year graduate scheme at Boeing covers areas including finance, supply chain, project management, engineering and IT. During this time you will complete several rotational placements.

You will also be supported through completing qualifications such as ACCA/CIMA for finance, SIPS for supply chain, APM for project management and CEng for engineering.

#13: Mondelez

The graduate scheme at Mondelez is designed to help graduates to become future leaders in the FMCG industry.

Each programme lasts 3 years, and you will work both inside and outside of your chosen discipline to gain broad experience.

There are three career paths that you can choose from:

  • Supply chain path: Manufacturing, Customer Service & Logistics, Procurement, R&D
  • Commercial path: Marketing and sales
  • Tailor-made path: dependent on your skills and interests

  • A structured Learning and Development curriculum that will help you to become a leader in the field.

#15: Babcock

Babcock offers a Procurement and supply chain management graduate scheme.

Over the duration of the programme, you’ll learn about how Babcock makes build vs. buy decisions, design supply chains, provide sourcing expertise and leverage third-party relationships to maximise value and support their business growth agenda.

In this programme, you will be mentored and supported towards gaining professional accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).

Starting salary: £29-31k
Academic requirements: A minimum of a 2:1 degree or a Masters’s degree

#17: Pladis

Pladis offers 2-year graduate schemes designed to develop future leaders in the business.

In order to secure a place on the graduate scheme at Pladis, you must successfully navigate through the 5-stage application process.

The application process involves:

  1. Online application form
  2. video interview
  3. Numerical SHL test
  4. Inductive reasoning SHL test
  5. Assessment centre

In order to meet the entry requirements, you must have a 2:1 degree. If you have a second degree such as a Master’s or a PhD, this will be taken into account.

Pladis offers graduate schemes in supply chain, finance, HR, engineering, commercial and technical.
