What is Career Coaching?

May 14, 2023

One problem facing many people looking for a job is that although they are sufficiently qualified, they often don’t know how best to appeal to recruiters to get employed. Additionally, those who are employed often struggle with increased pressure and their work-life balance. One solution to both of these problems is career coaching.

What is Career Coaching?

Career coaching is when someone is taught the skills crucial to both getting a job and succeeding in the workplace. This includes both recent graduates who are struggling to get their first full-time job, and those with more experience who are either struggling with their current work environment and want help to change careers.

Why is it Useful?

Career coaching is useful because many people graduate with little idea of what they want to do next, and do not know how to write a CV and cover letter that will appeal to employers. This greatly limits the usefulness of the degree they have just spent a lot of time and money attaining. Career coaching fixes these problems by teaching graduates these skills, greatly increasing their chances of getting the job they want, and preparing them for a workplace environment.

Career coaching can also help you with interviews, teaching you what body language to use, answering common questions and what you need to emphasize in order to get the job

Career coaching is also useful for people who have worked already, such as people who want to change careers but are having difficulty transferring their skillset from their previous job to their new one. It can also help you find a new career that you will enjoy and have the skill set to excel in.

People who are having difficulty in their current careers can also benefit from career coaching, as it can help you find a better work/life balance as well as solve other workplace problems that you are struggling with.

Who is it Best Suited For?

Career coaching is well suited for recent graduates who are looking for their first full-time job. This is because they have less experience in both applying for jobs and work experience and can learn a lot in both areas. Graduates are also likely to struggle to find work due to the relatively small number of graduate jobs when compared to the sheer number of people graduating every year.

Career coaching is also suited for people who already have workplace experience, but have problems they need help to resolve. This includes finding a good work/life balance, advice on working effectively with colleagues, and people who have been away from work for an extended period of time and need help getting their career back on track.

How Does Graduate Coach Help?

Graduate Coach can help you learn everything you need to get a job, including how to write a great CV and cover letter, and how to impress employers throughout the interview process.

The digital internship will give you the skills to thrive in a number of roles, such as SEO marketing and copywriting. These digital skills are crucial to nearly any job you could want to apply for, so learning them is extremely important to your future success.
