Fernando Irigoyen

Coach at Graduate Coach

When I was seventeen, I had no idea what to study at Uni. I went for the ‘safe’ option: Business and Finance. A few years later, having finished my degree and having done three internships I did not enjoy at all, I still felt very lost!

One thing that I’ve always known is that I love connecting with people and supporting people. This is the quality that brought me to work in Human Resources. I spent over eight years in HR, working mainly for EY (Ernst & Young) in the Madrid and London offices. This same ‘people’ quality is the one that brought me to coaching, which is now my full-time occupation!

Most people are not offered coaching until they reach a leadership position. However, this is changing as top employers and top Universities become more aware of the benefits of coaching and make it more accessible to more people. I am certain that I would have loved to know of The Graduate Coach in my last years of Uni and my first few years as a HR Adviser.

I love coaching graduates because they are at such a fantastic time in their life where they have so many options to choose from. I also have extensive experience coaching people who are considering a career change.
