Search engine optimisation, or SEO for short, is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search.
In this post, we will share how we trained and coached an English Literature graduate to secure a graduate job in SEO.
How we helped an English Literature graduate to secure a job as an SEO Executive at a top agency in London.
An English Literature graduate came to us after completing an English Literature degree at a top university. At the time he was freelancing as a writer for an agency.
He enrolled on the 6-stage career coaching programme.
We reviewed his skills and interests and quickly identified that he had great writing and communication skills. He also had an interest in Digital.
We then enrolled him on our digital marketing programme. On this programme, he specialised on our SEO stream.
On this programme, he took industry-recognised courses in digital marketing and SEO.
Once he had developed a foundational knowledge in SEO, we then gave him practical SEO tasks to complete so that he could build up a portfolio of work to show future employers.
We then taught him other important skills such as how to conduct and present an SEO audit.
Once he had built up a portfolio of experience in SEO and had developed a solid knowledge base, we then helped him how to create an achievement-based CV, LinkedIn profile and cover letter.
When these documents were ready, we then helped him to start applying for jobs in this field.
Not long after applying for jobs, he started getting invited to interviews.
The interviews required candidates to present. We helped him to prepare for the presentation and gave him general interview coaching.
He was then offered the job at a top agency.
